For the historical record, and until we find a new premises for our centre and shop, this webpage about the centre and shop shall remain, though please note we are no longer at our old location.
We shall however be at the Knox Park Murwillumbah Makers and Finders Market each month with a market stall.
The Caldera Environment Centre operated from 4 Queen Street, Murwillumbah and was staffed entirely by community volunteers.
We stocked ethically and sustainably produced goods. We stocked an extensive range of environmental and children’s environmental books. We stocked the locally made, ethically produced and sought after Sukhi range of womens clothing. We stocked hemp products, natural hemp hats, handmade soaps and incense, natural toothpaste, bamboo toothbrushes, Tooth Faerie products, candles, art cards, Moon Calendars, jewellery, yarn and lots more.
Your shopping at the Caldera Environment Centre Shop helped us contribute financially to our own activities and to other environmental and social groups.
We have in the past donated from revenue from our operations to the Bob Brown Foundation (BBF) in their fight to preserve Tasmania’s forests; to the North East Forest Alliance (NEFA) to help their activism works and for their legal challenge to the NSW Government Regional Forest Agreements to protect north Coast native forests; and to the Nature Conservation Council (NCC), a support umbrella organisation for NSW environmental organisations and the state’s leading environmental advocacy organisation.
